Old Friends, New Discoveries, and Future Dreams
The Case Club of San Diego enjoyed a wonderful buffet dinner at the Hilton in La Jolla, hosted by alumnus Stanley Toncich '77, G'81, Ph.D.'91. The evening was highlighted with a presentation by Dr. Gary Wnek, the Joseph F. Toot, Jr. Professor of Engineering. He spoke about The Institute for Management and Engineering (TiME), as well as an update on the Case School of Engineering. Professor Mehran Mehregany, Goodrich Professor of Engineering Innovation and Director of the Science and Techonology Application Center in San Diego, gave an impromptu update on his work in the San Diego area. The rest of the night was filled with mingling and networking among the local alumni who attended.
Dean's Welcome
Mehran Mehregany hosted alumni and friends and gave a up to date on what is happening at the Case School of Engineering and the initiatives under way on the West Coast and the Pacific Rim countries. Dean Tien spoke about the wonderful grant from The Cleveland Foundation to jumpstart the formation of the energy initiative at Case.
